You took the May Analytical Writing Placement Exam AWPE) and received a score of 7 or lower. Enroll in one of these CLEI 80A sections and in CLEI 81A lecture/plenary:

PROBLEMS ENROLLING? You will not be able to enroll in the correct College Eight Core Course if the Admissions Office has not yet received and entered official exam scores or official transcripts for UC transferable course work for the ELWR and C1 Composition Requirement.   Analytical Writing Placement Exam (AWPE) scores are automatically sent from ETS. On the other hand, AP, IB, ACT, and SAT scores require that you request to have your official score reports sent from the testing service to the UC Santa Cruz Admissions Office. You can check online at my.ucsc.edu (navigate to "View Test Scores") to see if your test scores have been received and entered. If you have not had official scores sent to UC Santa Cruz Admissions Office, visit the IB website and/or ETS website, or call (609) 771-7300 prior to 1:00PM Pacific Time. If you are satisfying the ELWR and C1 Composition Requirement with a college composition course, the Admissions Office MUST receive and evaluate your official transcripts before you can enroll into any CLEI 80B section. Definitely enroll in two fall courses while you are waiting for test scores or official transcripts to be posted. Contact Jan Burroughs if you think you have already satisfied the ELWR. The College may need to change your College Eight Core section, though we will make sure that your section assignment does not conflict with other courses. Back to How to Enroll
