A fourth generation Californian, Mary grew up in Los Angeles. She came to UC Santa Cruz as a transfer student in the late 1980s,to do an interdisciplinary major in Social Sciences. She has been a loyal Banana Slug ever since!
Mary joined College Eight in 1989 when the “new” residences and college buildings were built. She is responsible for all aspects of the student life program—including residential life, student activities, and judicial affairs. She enjoys working closely with the Student Life staff on the development of social, educational and cultural opportunites for all students. She is particularly committed to all College Eight students finding a sense of home at College Eight and UCSC.
Mary believes that the most important attributes of a successful student are good communication skills, and a willingness to reach out and find out—about others, about opportunities, and about the world! |
