Sara grew up in eastern Montana with an early interest in the environment. She spent her college summers working and hiking in Yellowstone National Park. After serving in the Peace Corps in Colombia in Rural Community Development she graduated from UCSC with a degree in Literature, with an emphasis on Latin American authors. Her interests in art led to her business as a hand bookbinder creating custom journals and albums, and running a retail crafts store. She has worked for an art school, a health education publisher, and as an adviser at UCSC for 15 years. She loves photography, writing, nature, spending time with her family, traveling, her big orange cat Fitz, and keeping her bird feeders full outside her office window. She enjoys talking to students about making the most of the UCSC options and resources. Her daughter is currently a UCSC student. |
